World’s Fattest Man

Published January 5, 2013 by naughtyviews

I was reading the newspaper this morning and the headlines were “I’ve lost 46st”. When I read the article in full, the man who was supposed to be the world’s fattest man lost a lot of weight by a gastric band bypass on the NHS. For those of you who are not British. For those of you, especially my non-British readers, the NHS is the National Health Service, which provides healthcare for all UK citizens. It’s a free service for all because it is funded by taxes. There’s a reason why I explained how the healthcare system because I shall be hitting back on that point further down the post. Here’s the story in a nut shell. Paul Mason was the world’s fattest man, weighing 70 stone in 2010. He underwent a gastric band bypass and now weighs 24 stone. I’m happy that he decided to lose weight BUT there are many aspects that I’m unhappy with and disagree with. Let the rant begin.

Background

Firstly how the hell did you add so much weight?!!!! To me, it’s common sense, that if you eat loads of food, you are going to add some weight. More food, more weight. Yes, there is an exception to the rule of those people who have a fast metabolism. I don’t really understand science and stuff so I won’t bother trying to explain that further. That’s all I know. 70 stone is more than enough weight so there has to be an underlying reason of how it all started. Stress? Boredom? Depression? I don’t know but I’d love to know the answer.

Diet

This is what he ate in the day:

Breakfast: packet of bacon, four sausages, four eggs, bread, hash browns.

Lunch: Four portions of fish and chips, two kebabs, roast dinner.

Dinner: Curries/pizza, chips

Snacks: 40 packets of crisps, sausage rolls, pasties.

You may be thinking that’s a lot of food to eat in ONE day. I’m thinking how does he afford it? Giggle all you want, but it’s true. I need to find out where he gets his money from because I work full time and I STILL couldn’t afford to buy that much food. Truth be told, that’s my WEEKLY diet.

Government

That nicely leads onto my next point. If he could afford to eat that much, then surely he could’ve paid for the gastric band bypass himself, rather than using the NHS. Harsh point, but it’s true. You cannot get your teeth whitened via the NHS, neither can you breast implants. They are seen as “cosmetic”. Excuse me, but it’s common sense if you eat so much, your health will deteriorate. However, on that note, that’s the reason why he was allowed to have a gastric band fitted. I don’t think it’s fair. As a tax payer, I don’t agree that he was allowed to have this done free. I could spend ages complaining about the Government, laws, benefits but to be honest, I don’t actually think David Cameron will read this so I won’t bother.

Exceptions

Despite my little rant, some people are obese due to genetics. If that’s the case then I don’t mind the NHS getting involved. But I’m against the NHS helping people who have messed things up for themselves.

Moral of the story: Don’t eat too much because you will get fat, then you’ll be a gastric bypass via the NHS, then I’ll get mad and write a post about you
