Obesity

I could be really boring here and talk about healthy eating, exercise and blah blah blah. But to be honest, I don’t do it myself and I wouldn’t tell my lovely readers to do it either. It’s boring and I have better things to do with my time. The reason for me writing this post is something serious mixed with a little light heartedness. My sister underwent surgery on Monday and the doctor had told her that she can only be discharged after she has slept off the anaesthetic and had something to eat. They even provide food to eat so it’s simple, right? WRONG!!!!! There was a woman opposite who had told her friend to buy her something to eat from the hospital shop because she didn’t like what the nurse was offering. That’s fair enough. I wouldn’t want to eat something, just for the sake of eating it. Her friend came back a few moments later with a bottle of Coke, 2 packets of crisps and a few chocolate bars *shocked* I don’t think THAT’S what the doctor suggested as a meal. Is it me or is it pure stupidity to eat those kind of foods whilst in the hospital? Come to think of it, why does the hospital sell so much junk food? I know they can’t ban it but it seems silly that doctors are constantly banging on about junk food, yet the sell so much of it. This is probably one of life’s unanswered questions but it was quite an amusing thought of mine.
